- Endesa Net Factory, a Subsidiary of Spain's
Largest Utility Company, Selects MaxBill to Provide Customer Care
and Billing Solutions for PLC Technology
- London, UK - April 23, 2002 - MaxBill announced today that Endesa
Net Factory, a subsidiary of Spain's largest utility company,
has implemented the MaxBill Customer Care and Billing system to
support its new PLC (Power Line Communication) project.
- Endesa will begin supplying telecommunication and IP services
over its existing power lines and MaxBill's solution will manage
the marketing, sales force, customer care and provisioning for
these new services.
- Endesa Net Factory is the division of Endesa developing the
Power Line Communications technology for transmitting voice and
data through the electricity grid. This technology will transform
conventional electric sockets into powerful and competitive telecommunications
and IP gateway with online, 24/7 service at broadband speed. Endesa
could potentially control the "last mile" into the homes
of their 20 million worldwide customers for utility, as well as,
IP and telecommunication services.
- The MaxBill system's ability to cost-effectively scale up to
high volumes of both customers and usage events makes it the right
solution for Endesa Net Factory's innovative project. The flexibility
and scalability of the MaxBill platform supports the potential
applications of this technology beyond IP and telecommunication
to include in-home or office security, distance consumption control,
intelligent home interconnection between electronic devices, assistance
services and many more.
- MaxBill's ability to bundle CRM and billing into one solution
will enable Endesa to potentially achieve fast time-to-market,
reducing integration expenses and delays from having to purchase
separate systems. MaxBill will implement the full scope of Customer
Care and Billing functionality with a web-enabled interface.
The MaxBill solution for Endesa also includes order management,
provisioning, CRM, trouble ticketing and convergent rating. MaxBill's
Autonom-e interface module supports secure EBPP and eCRM. "Endesa's
